Information about aftercare

Aftercare is provided on a daily basis for all 3 and 4 year olds.  On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays Mrs. Dunwiddie, a teacher in the 4’s, provides the aftercare in room 104 and on Tuesdays and Thursdays Mrs. Collafarina, a teacher in the 3’s, provides the aftercare in room 106. 

Aftercare is provided on an as needed basis for all 2 year olds.  We must have at least 5 students enrolled each day to cover the expense of running aftercare.  On Mondays and Wednesdays Miss Deanna, a teacher in the 2’s, provides the aftercare in her room 107.  We are currently considering aftercare on Fridays as well. Parents are asked to provide a crib size or twin size sheet each week that their child is in aftercare to cover the rest mat.

The aftercare hours for all ages are from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. and the cost is $10/day which is to be paid by check or cash when you pick up your child.  You may prepay for an entire month of aftercare and receive a 20% discount.  A week’s worth of sign-up sheets for aftercare is located on the bulletin board in the main hallway. 

There are 12 spaces available for aftercare for 3 and 4 year olds and 7 spaces available for 2 year olds.  Those individuals who prepay for aftercare will be assured a spot in aftercare.  Once the spaces are taken, we may not take any additional children as we would be in violation of state laws regarding staff/student ratios.  Since aftercare is conducted when the school is closed, all entrances to the school are locked. 

Please ensure that you pick up from aftercare by 3:00 p.m.  Our teachers have obligations to their own children in the afternoons.  If you are late to pick up, the standard late fee of $1.00/minute is owed to the teacher directly.
Please do not hesitate to ask Lee or Samantha if you should have questions about aftercare or if you wish to prepay for an entire month.  The prepayment amounts vary each month according to the number of days of aftercare in the month so please check in the office for those amounts.
