Pastor Nominating Committee Update

After a great deal of discovery, discernment and prayer with a long list of potential candidates, the PNC has unanimously approved the decision to extend a call to our next Senior Pastor/Head of Staff!  This person has shown that they have the experience, vision, character and depth of faith that will serve this congregation well.  We feel that the Holy Spirit has brought our paths together and directed both the PNC and our candidate in this decision.

While we have made great strides in a relatively short period of time, there is still much diligence before us.  Our candidate must agree to the Terms of Call (compensation) and must be interviewed and approved by the Committee on Ministry of our Presbytery.  We have been employing great discretion to allow our candidate to honor previous commitments and have the ability to say goodbye to a loving congregation.  We will be releasing the candidate’s name and biography concurrent with the planned congregational meeting July 20.  If all goes well we are aiming for a September welcome for our new Senior Pastor.

The committee greatly appreciates the prayers of the congregation.  We thank you for your continued support.

Blessings,

Lloyd Doerflinger, co-chair; Roger Miller, co-chair, Don Bucknam, Ben Currier, Joan Gust, Craig Lyon, John Oakley, Michelle Payton, John Rader

The Pastor Nominating Committee

The Session, the governing body of the church, has called a SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CONGREGATION FOR SUNDAY, JULY 20 following the 9:30 a.m. Service of Worship.

The purpose of the meeting is to act upon the recommendation of the Pastor Nominating Committee to issue a call to the candidate they have unanimously agreed to present to the congregation to become the pastor and head of staff.  For safe guarding the confidentiality of the candidate, his name will be presented to the congregation in a letter mailed on Monday, July 14 along with biographical information.  After the election, the candidate will then be free to inform his current congregation of his new call.
