Rev. Rex Childs

Rex began serving the First Presbyterian Church of Naples in July of 2018. A native of Naples, FL, Rex received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida before attending Union Presbyterian Seminary where he completed a dual-degree program, earning both Master of Divinity and Master of Arts in Christian Education degrees. This is Rex's first call to a church and he is busy working in the areas of Christian Education, pastoral care, and Mission in addition to helping lead worship. Rex is also active serving at the presbytery level. He was elected to serve as the Moderator of Peace River Presbytery for 2020, leading the gatherings for the 37 PC(USA) churches in SW Florida.
Rex is married to Cayla Childs, who is also a Naples native. Rex and Cayla love spending time with their daughter Mary, and the many members of their extended family here in Naples. When not at the church or spending time with family, Rex likes to watch sports, particularly soccer, or get out on one of the many golf courses Naples has to offer.
