Words from Aaron: World Communion and GenWE Sunday
Dear Members and Friends of First Presbyterian Church of Naples,
This Sunday is World Communion Sunday. As we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, we acknowledge that we are part of the body of Christ stretching around the globe. As Scripture and liturgy are spoken in different languages, we are reminded that it is the same Spirit who draws us together in worship of the one true God. We are united not by our sameness, but by our shared faith in Jesus Christ.
One Body Across Generations: GenWE Sunday
Similarly, on this GenWE Sunday, we are grateful for the intergenerational character of our church. Just as God works across borders, Christ speaks across generations with timeless truths that remain relevant to our daily lives and strengthen us in our faith. As Paul reminds us in Romans 12:4-5, “For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ.”
I hope you will join me for worship this Sunday at 10 a.m.
In Christ,
Aaron
